What is simile?

* The comparison of unlike things using the words like or as known to be- simile. A stated comparison  ( usually formed with "like" or " as") between two fundamentally dissimilar things that have certain qualities in common.


Simile examples that begin with "as"

+ Today i'm feelings as fresh as a daisy.
+ John runs as fast as lightning.
+ As big as an elephant.
+ As black as coal.
+ After that meal, i feel as fat as a pig!
+ That boy in my class is as funny as a clown.
+ As cunning as a fox.
+ As dry as a bone.
+ As fit as a fiddle.
+ As free as a bird.

Simile can also start with " Like "

+ like an angel (Sing)
+ like an animal (Act)
+ like a bird. ( Eat)
+ like a dog. ( work)
+ like cats and dogs. ( Fight)
+ like a pile of rocks
+ like a rose
+ like stars
+ like volcano
+ like two peas in a pod
