 What is personification?

A figure of speech in which an inanimate object or abstraction is endowed with human qualities or abilities. Example: Let not Ambition mock their useful toil.

Common personification examples in English literature

1.  The waves beside them danced.

2. Traffic slowed to a crawl.

3. My house is a friend who protect me.

4. The door protested as it opened slowly.

5. When i didnt make the team, my dream of being a star died.

6. The wildfire ran through the forest at an amazing speed.

7. The cactus saluted those who drove past.

8. Hail Pounded the houses and streets.
